The article analyzes the negative impact of motor vehicles and fuel combustion products on the environmental situation and human health. The main toxic components of exhaust gases (carbon monoxide, benzo-α-pyrene, sulfur dioxide, lead compounds) and their maximum permissible concentrations are examined. The author emphasizes the importance of switching to unleaded gasoline and implementing strict environmental standards to reduce emissions of carcinogens and heavy metals into the atmosphere
