This article explores the theoretical foundations of theme and problem in literary works and their interrelation. It emphasizes that in the novel genre, a broad theme generates a system of interconnected problems. Using Nabijon Hoshimov’s novel “Mountain Girl” as an example, the study examines themes such as youth, family, parenthood, destiny, and love, along with their artistic interpretation. The paper highlights the role of mythopoetic style, symbolic details, and the chronotope (unity of time and space) in expressing the author’s idea. It also analyzes how character systems and poetic devices reveal human destiny, moral choices, and socio-spiritual issues
