The article examines gender equality as one of the key principles of modern law and an important direction of state policy in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The features of legal regulation, existing problems of implementation, and ways to improve legislation in this area are analyzed. The importance of developing legal culture and raising the legal awareness of citizens for achieving real equality is noted, and the role of gender equality in strengthening democracy and ensuring sustainable development of society is emphasized
