This article examines the theoretical and practical foundations of essay-writing technology aimed at developing students’ lexical competence in native language classes. The study explores the essence and content of lexical competence, its role in students’ speech activities, and the potential of essay writing as an effective means of enriching vocabulary. The effectiveness of essay- writing technology in fostering the appropriate and purposeful use of words, coherent and logical expression of ideas, and the development of communicative and creative abilities is substantiated
